During the election campaign, Trump had promised to end the Russia-Ukraine war, that too in just “24 hours”. Now Trump’s envoy General Keith Kellogg says that Trump will bring a settlement in his first 100 days. But experts believe that this settlement will be more in favour of Russia, because Vladimir Putin has extended a hand of friendship towards Trump and said that for “lasting peace” the interests of all parties will be taken into consideration.

Tariff threat against Canada

Trump has threatened to impose a 25% tariff on Canadian goods, which has become the cause of political instability in Canada. After the resignation of PM Justin Trudeau’s deputy Chrystia Freeland, Trudeau also left his post. Canada’s new leader will now have to prepare to deal with Trump, who is already complicating US-Canada relations further.
