This time is becoming more challenging for Ukraine. Due to lack of manpower against Russian forces and uncertain future of Western support, it seems difficult for Ukraine to reclaim its territory. On the other hand, Russia is also struggling with its economic problems and soaring inflation, which is the result of its military spending.

Is peace possible?

Trump thinks like a “deal-maker” leader, who focuses more on negotiation and diplomacy. But the ground reality is different. It is still a question whether Trump’s peace plan will be successful amid the lack of equal relations between Russia and Ukraine and the complexities of international law.

Will this meeting be a new beginning in geopolitics, or will it remain just a political stunt? Only time will tell.
