On Tuesday, the tranquil region of Pahalgam in Anantnag district, Jammu & Kashmir, turned into a battlefield as terrorists, dressed in police uniforms, opened indiscriminate fire on innocent tourists. The gruesome attack claimed 28 lives, including 3 military officers who were vacationing with their families.


PM Modi Cuts Short Saudi Visit, Returns to Delhi Immediately

In a strong signal of urgency and leadership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his official visit to Saudi Arabia and returned to Delhi in the early hours of Wednesday. Within hours, he convened an emergency Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting at his residence.

Statements from Home and Defence Ministers

Home Minister Amit Shah, after reviewing the ground situation in Srinagar, briefed the PM personally. Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh strongly condemned the attack, stating:

“This was a cowardly act targeting a specific community. We will not rest until every conspirator is brought to justice—both on the ground and behind the scenes.”


NSA Doval to Lead Coordinated Anti-Terror Operations

A high-level anti-terror operation has been launched under the guidance of NSA Ajit Doval. Indian Army and paramilitary forces have been deployed in southern Kashmir, with “shoot at sight” orders issued against suspected terrorists.


Rs 20 Lakh Reward for Information on Attackers

The J&K Police has announced a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh for anyone providing credible information about the attackers. A dedicated intelligence task force is working 24/7 to track down the perpetrators.


India to Take Global Action: MEA Plans Diplomatic Offensive

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has indicated that India will raise this issue on international platforms including the UN, G20, and BRICS, urging collective global action against state-sponsored terrorism.
