
The green hydrogen production units under the SIGHT programme will have to be commissioned within 2.5 years of receiving the letter of award. As per the scheme guidelines, bidding for the second tranche was done on the basis of least incentive demand.
The tender was designed using a bucket-filling approach, wherein the bidder with the lowest incentive demand was given financial support for their required capacity, and then the process continued with the next lowest bidder until the entire tender capacity was exhausted.
The SIGHT programme, which was launched in January 2023, which is a part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, has a total outlay of Rs 17,490 crore, which is allocated for green hydrogen capacity and electrolysers.
