Putin’s message and Russia’s situation

Looking at Putin’s message for the new year, one thing is clear: he wants to give a message of unity and courage to his countrymen. Russians are facing inflation due to the high interest rate of 21%, and are worried about the deterioration in the economy. In the midst of all this, Putin said, “We have resolved many challenges in the last 25 years, and we are ready to move forward.”

He did not explicitly mention the Ukraine war, but saluted the courage and bravery of Russian soldiers: “We are proud of your bravery.”
