Elon Musk’s ‘space experiments’ create ‘mess’ for the environment

Elon Musk and his company SpaceX are always in the headlines, especially when it comes to an ambitious project like Starship. But after the explosion on the 7th test flight of Starship on 17 January, a big question is arising – is this stubbornness of Musk a new threat to the environment?

Starship Test Flight: What happened?

On 17 January at 4 am (IST), another test launch of Starship was done from Boca Chica Spaceport in Texas. At first everything was fine – the booster successfully separated and came back to the launch pad. But oxygen started leaking in the ship (upper part) and there was a blast.

Did the explosion have an impact on the environment?

After this explosion, a lot of metal dust rained in the atmosphere, which can be dangerous for the environment. Scientists say that such experiments can have a negative impact on air pollution, space debris and ecosystem.

Elon Musk’s stubbornness vs. environment

Musk’s mission is to establish a human colony on Mars, and for this he is ready to go to any extent. But how much damage is being done to the environment due to space missions? This has become a big concern.

What do you say?

Should Elon Musk slow down his space ambitions a bit or is all this acceptable for progress?
