Trump’s desire to annex Greenland, an autonomous region of Denmark, to the US and his insistence on the possibility of military action for this has become a matter of concern not only for Denmark but also for the European Union and other countries.
Big European countries like France and Germany have strongly condemned this statement of Trump. France’s Foreign Minister called it against international rules and sovereignty, while Germany said that the attempt to forcefully change the boundaries was unacceptable.
Denmark’s Prime Minister Mute Egede has already made it clear that Greenland belongs to his people and “it is not for sale.” Trump’s aggressive statements have increased diplomatic tensions not only in Europe but also globally.
