This case is of a 26-year-old Indian-origin whistleblower who worked at OpenAI and was found dead in his San Francisco apartment last month. His mother has raised some serious questions about her son’s death. She has claimed that her son’s death was not a suicide, which is how the police concluded. She has pointed out blood stains and signs of struggle in the bathroom, which do not match the typical suicide scenario. The most important thing in this is that no suicide note has been found.
She has investigated it herself, with the help of ChatGPT and a private investigator. Both contradicted the conclusions of the police. Mother says that when the police saw the CCTV footage and did not see anyone entering the apartment, then the police made a case of suicide, but mother told that there are 3 entrances to the apartment and CCTV coverage of two was not found. Therefore, she believes that the police did not investigate properly.
Elon Musk is also supporting the claims of the mother of the Indian son in this case and he has also raised the possibility of foul play. Mother has appealed to the FBI for investigation and has also sought help from the Ministry of External Affairs. He said that the tech industry lobby in San Francisco is very powerful and that some people viewed the actions of his son as a threat to their position.
This case once again shows how when a sensitive issue is discussed, some people can misuse their power and there can be a lack of transparency in that investigation.
